Meier Handmade Skis began in 2009 in a one-car garage in the beautiful Roaring Fork Valley. Matt Cudmore, a ski junkie with a passion for fine craftsmanship, gave up searching for ''the next perfect ski,'' and decided to build it himself. In doing so, he created the first pair of Meier Handmade Skis.
Meier Skis remains a local ski manufacturing company, based in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. We make the best boards that money can buy, using locally sourced Colorado wood. Each ski is crafted by hand, an original work of art. You are getting a true Made-in-America ski that slays it. Every time.
Meier Handmade Skis is driven by a passion for skiing. Our business is based upon the principle of sustainability. Our skis are made from locally grown trees, and we strive to sell our skis locally. We believe that consumers will embrace a product made in Glenwood Springs over machine-made skis imported from Europe or China.
Like the trees that become our skis, the Meier brand is rooted in, and tries to embody, a Colorado state-of-mind. Clean, humble, local, and genuine. Everywhere that you go, there is such amazing beauty in these mountains. Each ski town has an aura, its own unique character. We love living and working in a place where everyone wants to vacation. Like its frontier past, Colorado has a feel that is stripped-down and raw. Just like our skis. What you see is what you get.
But once you cut some turns on our handmade skis, you will never want to go back.
